§ 463. Offering forged or false instruments for record

Every person who knowingly procures or offers any false or forged instrument to be filed, registered, or recorded in any public office within this Nation, which instrument, if genuine, might be filed or registered or recorded under any law of this Nation or of the United States, is guilty of a felony punishable by a fine of not more than Fifteen Thousand Dollars ($15,000), or by not more than three (3) years imprisonment, or by both such fine and imprisonment.
