Sasha Blackfox-Qualls, of Hulbert, is a dedicated Registered Nurse who has devoted her career to improving health care for mothers and infants within the Cherokee Nation. With over ten years of nursing experience, she has made significant strides in her field, advocating for the well-being of families in her community.

In her current role as the District 1 Tribal Councilor for the Cherokee Nation, Sasha leads the Health Committee, where she works tirelessly to shape health policies and address the needs of tribal members. Additionally, she serves as an advisory member on the Housing Authority of the Cherokee Nation and the Inter-Tribal Council of the Five Civilized Tribes, further reflecting her commitment to community improvement.

Sasha’s efforts in maternal health have garnered recognition on a larger scale. She has partnered with Harvard University on groundbreaking initiatives aimed at improving maternal and infant health, particularly in rural areas. Her impactful work earned her a spot in President Obama’s 2025-2026 USA Leadership Foundation, highlighting her dedication to making a difference in public health.

Her educational journey proves her commitment to learning and growth. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Biology from Northeastern State University, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, and a Master of Science in Nursing in Healthcare Administration from Southwestern Oklahoma State University. This educational foundation enables her to tackle complex health challenges.
