§ 201. Definitions

A. “Cherokee National Trail System”: A system of pedestrian and/or bicycle trails accessible to and connecting communities within the Cherokee Nation Reservation, provided:

1. The development goal of said system is to create a trail system that covers as much of the Cherokee Nation Reservation as is practical and is as contiguous as is practical in the interest of maximizing access of Cherokee Nation citizens to natural areas or locations of historic significance within the Cherokee Nation Reservation;

2. Component trails of said system may include designation of trails managed by other sovereigns or other entities, providing that such inclusion and designation is subject to an agreement with Cherokee Nation;

3. Components of said system, to the extent owned or controlled by Cherokee Nation, shall be designated under the Cherokee Nation Parks, Wildlands, Hunting and Fishing Preserve Act of 2021 and any amendments thereto.
